Veterinarian

Dr. Heather Jones is Practice Owner and Chief Veterinarian at Animal Friends. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, where she earned her Veterinary Medical Doctoral (VMD) degree with honors. She worked in small animal practice for a few years before becoming a zoo veterinarian at the Detroit and Toledo Zoos. Dr. Jones also enjoyed being a high school biology teacher and instructor to veterinary technology students. She opened Animal Friends in 2014 and loves seeing her patients and teaching pet parents about animal care. Dr. Jones is passionate about recycling and conservation and likes the challenge of seeing a variety of exotic animal species. Outside of animals, she enjoys photography, travel, and watching her daughter dance!

Laura is the Office Manager and Lead Receptionist at Animal Friends. She has years of experience in the veterinary field helping people help their pets. She enjoys her own dogs and cats and is a busy mom and friend to all. She will always greet you and your pet with a smile! She is pictured with her beloved dog Rocky, a geriatric Lab/Boxer mix who is gentle and always eager to please. In her free time, Laura loves kayaking Up North and cruising around in her Mustang convertible!
